Prepping Your Portable Classroom for Summer

Portable classrooms provide temporary space for all types of learning, from K-12 schools to universities. With summer quickly approaching and more schools planning to safely return to in-person classes, preparing your portable classrooms now can help create a safer, more organized learning environment for students and staff.

4 Easy Ways to Prepare Your Portable Classroom

From quickly adding square footage to your school to saving you money with cost-effective installation, modular classrooms can help you prepare for upcoming school renovations, repairs and growing student populations. Setting classrooms up now can help minimize stress in the fall.

1. CLEAN YOUR CLASSROOM

As with any prefabricated unit, there may be leftover particles from transit and assembly. Make sure to clear any vents, clean any window screens, vacuum and dust your classroom before students arrive. This step in the process is the most important for schools under renovation. The building should be thoroughly cleaned to ensure students, faculty and staff will not be inhaling construction leftovers.

2. CHANGE THE A/C AIR FILTER

We recommend that you change your air filter every thirty days. If not monitored, the particles in the air can clog your filter reducing the efficiency and spreading allergens. Any other issues should be handled by qualified HVAC technicians, but for monthly maintenance, unclogging your air filters should do the trick.

3. REORGANIZE YOUR LAYOUT

Welcome to the fun part of preparing your classroom. While we recommend aligning desks six feet apart, increasing aisle space and organizing supplies, make the space yours. Take advantage of the spacious interior by developing a layout that is ideal for learning, limits distractions and is ADA compliant.

4. KEEP DOORS CLOSED

As the days get hotter, we all want to stay cooler. To keep that cold A/C air from escaping, you’ll need to keep doors, blinds and windows closed. The portable classroom can only have a controlled environment if you implement these measures.

GET READY FOR NEXT SEMESTER

Our portable classrooms offer the perfect solution for growing class sizes and limited space and can be delivered when and where you need it. With the ongoing social distancing mandates, our units also provide more flexibility while keeping you cool on the job so you can focus on what you do best – keeping your students and staff healthy and ready to learn.
